Flux
Assignment:
Design an item for a Flux Kit. Make 25 ea. of them. (a Flux Kit is a box or briefcase packed with an eclectic collection of small objects to be held in the hand, read and manipulated. They are art, but not art. They are interactive curiosities: boxes and games, noise makers, journals and films and are often humor based.)

My Work:
Intentions: I wanted to create something with humor, so I collected the wind in small containers noting the wind speed, direction and periodic gust speed on each container. As a secondary work, I obtained a selection of kids’ socks from local thrift stores and presented them each as “That sock that went missing. You’re welcome.”.
Other notes: The students will send our Flux items to our teacher to be assembled into Flux Kits that will then be mailed back to us so we get to have the items that each of our classmates created. What fun!
